• material: stainless steel grade Wst. Nr. 1.4404 (AISI 316L)

Note: Not leak-tight unless pressed, and fitted with a crimp indicator up to size 54 mm.

• What tools do I need to install this fitting? Press fittings require specialised crimping pliers with the correct jaw type (commonly marked B, F or TH depending on the system) matching the size and type of the fitting - without the right tool the joint cannot be made or checked.
• How do I know the joint has been crimped correctly? Good quality press fittings have a crimp indicator (e.g. a sealing O-ring that leaks if crimping is incomplete) - before embedding the joint in a wall or screed, a pressure test of the whole system should always be carried out.
• Can the joint be taken apart after crimping? No, unlike a screwed (compression) fitting, a crimped joint is permanent and taking it apart means cutting out the fitting and replacing it with a new one.
• Does installation have to be carried out by a professional? Yes, crimping fittings requires professional skill and correctly calibrated tools - we recommend leaving this to a heating engineer/plumber, especially for joints that will be embedded in a wall or screed with no possibility of later inspection.
