• What tools do I need to install this fitting? Press fittings require specialized crimping pliers with the correct jaw type (commonly labeled B, F, or TH depending on the system) matching the size and type of the fitting - without the proper tool, the joint cannot be made or checked.
• How do I know the joint has been crimped correctly? Quality press fittings have a crimping indicator (e.g. a sealing O-ring that leaks if the crimping was not completed) - before embedding the joint in a wall or screed, a pressure test of the entire system must always be performed.
• Can the joint be disassembled after crimping? No, unlike a screwed (compression) fitting, a crimped joint is permanent and removing it requires cutting out the fitting and replacing it with a new one.
