• What tools do I need to install this fitting? Press fittings require specialized pressing pliers with the correct type of jaw (commonly marked B, F, or TH depending on the system) corresponding to the size and type of fitting - without the correct tool, the joint cannot be made or checked.
• How do I know the joint has been properly pressed? Quality press fittings have a pressing indicator (e.g. a sealing O-ring that leaks if pressing is incomplete) - a pressure test of the whole system must always be carried out before the joint is embedded in a wall or screed.
• Can the joint be disassembled after pressing? No, unlike a screwed (compression) fitting, a pressed joint is permanent and disassembly requires cutting out the fitting and replacing it with a new one.
